Play Ball!
Mavericks play their first game in Club history.
The Mavericks hosted the Devil Rays at the Ajax Sportsplex for our first outing, not only first of the fall ball season, but first ever as this was the inaugural exhibition game for the Durham Mavericks Baseball Club. While we didn't grab the win, it was a beautiful night with lots of great plays and good fun!

Fall ball runs as exhibition style games allowing coaches to move players around to see them in game play, and allows the players to start getting to know their new teammates. Often in fall ball, teams will play with mixed rosters while recruiting and tryouts are still going on. Weather permitting, fall ball can go as late as Thanksgiving.

The Mavericks are still holding private tryouts, if you would like to register please

Hope to see you at the ballpark!

why play for the MAVERICKS?
Our core values of working hard, having fun and being great teammates, while striving to do everything with integrity, intensity and intelligence, will not only develop our players into skilled baseball players on the diamond, but also well rounded, confident individuals off the diamond.

We are driven by the idea that youth sports must be, first and foremost, about the players. Whether they want to set a goal of attending college or university to play baseball or be the best competitive baseball players before venturing out into the world to pursue their chosen paths, they are our priority. As Mike Matheny, former MLB player and manager said, "Sports should be about kids and their passion, not about parents and their goals." And we take this seriously.

Our off-season training is held at multiple specialized facilities within Durham Region allowing us to focus on different elements of training. We do batting practice and bullpens at the batting cages and we use a large, indoor space to do fielding, positional, and situational practice. For our older teams, we also arrange an (optional) fitness training program, with personal trainers, teaching the players how to properly do their workouts which helps to improve their overall athleticism. We also incorporate classroom learning sessions throughout the year covering more situational plays and discussing the importance of players’ health and wellness both mentally and physically; two very important factors that contribute to a player’s success both in baseball and in life.
